Weddings are exciting and magical, filled with love and happy memories, but let’s face it; They can also be stressful. Planning a big wedding can often come with an overwhelming to-do list. With so much to plan, it’s inevitable that something might go wrong. From catering catastrophes to guest list discrepancies, to venues being overbooked and beyond, we’ve heard all the nightmares. That’s why we’ve created this guide to help you keep your wedding simple, stress-free, and enjoyable for everyone!

Less is More

When it comes to your guest list, decor, venue, accessories… No matter what aspect of your wedding you’re planning, we guarantee the saying “less is more” is relevant! We encourage you to keep this in mind throughout the planning process. It’s easy to get caught up in Pinterest boards, obsessing over “DIY” projects for creative signs and decor at your wedding, or ideas for your bridal shower. Prioritizing the things that matter most, like who you’re surrounded by, and where you are will help you stay on task when it comes to planning.

Be Selective With Your Guest List

A big extravagant wedding with hundreds of people may sound great in theory, but in reality, it can be very overwhelming and less personable. When you’re deciding on your wedding guest list, you really want it to be the “A-list.” Think of the most important people in your life, typically close family members and friends. Who can you not imagine saying “I do” without? These are the people that you really want at your wedding; You great Aunt Suzy, long-lost cousin Jessica, or Coworker Mike don’t necessarily need to be on the list. A small, intimate wedding will give you more time to interact with everyone and make lasting memories without the stress of greeting all 100-200+ guests. Choose a Venue That Suits You

Gone are the days that weddings have to be in a church or even traditional space. It’s your wedding, so the venue or setting should suit you! It doesn’t have to be an extravagant function hall, either. A small intimate chapel or space can make for an incredibly special wedding ceremony. Or, if you want to get married on the beach or outdoor location, awesome! Adding a little natural beauty to your wedding with the scenery will make for gorgeous wedding photos!

Shorten the Timeline

Who says you have to have a 6-hour long wedding that includes a ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing? If we’re being honest, those lengthy weddings can get a little exhaustive. Do things on your time! Make it shorter and focus on the things you really want to spend time doing. Plus, you may even be able to save some money.
