About the Director

Michelle Lydon

As owner and director of Lydon Chapel for Funerals, Michelle Lydon continues a family tradition that began more than 60 years ago, providing caring, compassionate assistance to one family at a time.

A licensed funeral director, Michelle is a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School, New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences and Fitchburg State College, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and an Associate’s Degree in Funeral Service. She is also a Justice of Peace who has had the privilege of officiating at more than 700 wedding ceremonies.  www.justicelydon.com

Michelle has a long history of community activism that includes spearheading the all-volunteer drives to refurbish the Collins Rest-a-While and Beechwood Knoll School playgrounds and as well as the restoration of the city’s Sailors’ Home Cemetery for Civil War veterans. In addition to serving Ten years as a commissioner on the city Parks and Recreation Board, Michelle’s civic activities include serving on the Quincy Educational Fund Committee and as Treasurer of the Quincy Democratic City Committee. She is a longtime member and officer of the Quincy Lions Club, and will serve as the organization’s president from 2009-2010.

A lifelong Quincy resident, Michelle lives in Wollaston with her husband and two children.
